I have started a couple of rows on a stole, in this case it’s called the Beginner Ruana. I’m working on the first front and back, and so far it’s been pretty easy to follow. I’m trying not to look too far ahead into the pattern because I’m seeing something that I think will worry me, and it calls for help. Hehe. (I just know I’m going to be asking Phisch [she does awesome knitting!] about it.)
I’d say my knitting is coming along well. I had trouble in the beginning, working out the hand/needle coordination. I think I’ve gotten the hang of it, though.
I realized something funny about myself while working on this. I’m really very contradictory because while I really would like immediate gratification, I find that I don’t like doing small projects. Even when I’m a beginner. I like ‘em big and overwhelming. This stole aint too big, though. But the ripple afghan sure was!
It kinda makes you wish you were such a super nice person and had lots of equally nice people who love you, that they would want to go all out with making you feel loved and celebrated on your wedding day.
I have had a really good week. If I had braved riding the Beast or The Son of the Beast (they’re wooden coasters in Kings Island, Ohio), I would compare the week that had gone to riding those monsters. It has been a really fun week (truly wonderful! I wish I could go on an all-emo post here), but there were moments when I felt like I was barely holding on to my sanity (matters of the heart and brain moments for me). If I had gone on the Beast and/or his son, I would imagine this week’s feelings to be just like this: holding on to the railing, fearing for your life, all the while worrying that your teeth will fall off as soon as the ride stops and you get off.
Finish the drawing of the front panel of the AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) that’s supposed to go in the manual
Finish reading the HW and Firmware specs
Annotate the base file and figure out how to make the manual work when the CF card is nonexistent in the current product, and the switch had been changed
Get the onboard layout of the AMC and adjust the drawing as necessary
Last and most important of all, make M understand that I didn’t mean what I said
I’m sure I made my mom and dad happy when I joined them for Church last Sunday. This is inside the St. John Bosco Church in Makati. I pretty much demanded that we go here because this is the only church I know where it’s plenty cold inside. Yes, St. John Bosco has the funding to keep their church really cold with airconditioning. It is unbelievably hot here in the Philippines, especially now that it’s summer. Can’t wait for the relatively cooler months to come. (Oh, yeah, we do have some cooler months coming. Some people find that hard to believe.)
